I)   Overview

MGE UPS Systems software used to secure your Unisys station 

is composed of files f_cl_uni.exe, e_cl_uni.exe and umc_uni.taz . 

File f_cl_uni.exe (auto-extractible zipped file) contains this 

readme file and french manual in Microsoft Word 6 format. 

File e_cl_uni.exe (auto-extractible zipped file) contains this 

readme file and english manual in Microsoft Word 6 format. 

File umc_uni.taz contains the software to be installed. 



It is highly recommended to read the documentation before 

installing the software. 



II)  Usage 

To set this release you must 

- write the umc_uni.taz file in /tmp of your station. 

- change name from umc_uni.taz to umc_uni.tar.Z with command 

  mv umc_uni.taz umc_uni.tar.Z 

- uncompress the file with command 

  uncompress umc_uni.tar.Z 

- create a new directory /tmp/MGE 

- extract files from archive 

  cd /tmp/MGE 

  tar xvf /tmp/umc_uni.tar 

- change directory to /tmp/MGE/UPSMAN/UNISYS/CLIENT to execute the 

  installation script 

  cd UPSMAN/UNISYS/CLIENT 

  ./INSTALL 

- follow instruction in user guide to install and configure the 

  software 



III) Attention 

If you have never run the tests described in user guide, you should 

do them before starting UM-Client.

I)   PrÈsentation 

Le logiciel de MGE UPS pour sÈcuriser une station Unisys 

se compose des fichiers f_cl_uni.exe, e_cl_uni.exe and umc_uni.taz .

Le fichier f_cl_uni.exe (au format zip auto-extractible) contient 

ce fichier et le manuel d'utilisation francais au format Microsoft 

Word 6. 

Le fichier e_cl_uni.exe (au format zip auto-extractible) contient 

ce fichier et le manuel d'utilisation anglais au format Microsoft 

Word 6. 

Le fichier umc_uni.taz contient le logiciel lui-mÍme. 



Nous vous recommandons de lire cette documentation gÈnÈrale avant 

d'installer le logiciel.



II)  Utilisation

Pour mettre en oeuvre cette version, vous devez :

- Ècrire le fichier umc_uni.taz dans le rÈpertoire /tmp de votre 

  station

- renommer le fichier umc_uni.taz en umc_uni.tar.Z en utilisant la 

  commande

  mv umc_uni.taz umc_uni.tar.Z

- dÈcompresser le fichier en utilisant la commande

  uncompress umc_uni.tar.Z

- crÈer le nouveau rÈpertoire /tmp/MGE

- extraire les fichiers contenus dans l'archive

  cd /tmp/MGE

  tar xvf /tmp/umc_uni.tar

- exÈcuter le script d'installation depuis le rÈpertoire 

  /tmp/MGE/UPSMAN/UNISYS/CLIENT

  cd UPSMAN/UNISYS/CLIENT

  ./INSTALL

- suivre les instructions dÈcrites dans le manuel utilisateur pour 

  installer et configurer le logiciel



III) Recommandation

Si vous n'avez jamais rÈalisÈ les tests dÈcrits dans la 

documentation, il est important de les mettre en oeuvre avant de 

dÈmarrer UM-Client.
